Taqah Castle
Taqah Castle is one of the most popular castles in Dhofar Governorate and is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful castles in Oman. This fort, which was built as a residential house, belonged to a tribal leader named Sheikh Ali bin Taman Al Mashani, the maternal grandfather of Sultan Qaboos. Currently, the use of this fort has been changed and it has been displayed as a museum in which all kinds of weapons and tools related to the old way of life of Oman are displayed. The unique architecture of the castle, along with the beautiful fields and the ancient importance of this area, are all reasons that place Taqah Castle in the list of the most interesting attractions in Salalah. Don't forget not to leave the castle before witnessing an amazing view of the spectacular sunset from its famous point.
